Pack for comfort, fun, and adventure — camp is about experiences, not perfect outfits. At Camp Loma Mar, camp life is all about adventure, comfort, and fun. We suggest older play clothes that campers can move in and not worry about getting dirty. Clothes and gear should be packed in a drawstring bag, duffel, or laundry bag, with daily items (toiletries, swimsuit, towel, shoes) in a small backpack or day bag for easy carrying.

Packing Tips:

• Please label all items with your camper’s name. This helps us return belongings and saves a lot of lost-and-found headaches!
• A duffel bag or laundry bag works best — no need for the world’s biggest suitcase.
• Active footwear is your best bet for walking on our trails, and we require closed-toe shoes for all climbing wall, zipline, and outdoor activities.

To keep camp safe, simple, and focused on friendships and fun, we ask that campers leave the following items at home: 

• Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, matches, and firearms)
• Drugs, tobacco, alcohol, e-cigarettes, and vapes
• Explicit or inappropriate items
• Expensive valuables (jewelry, electronics, collectibles)
• Food, candy, and gum (to prevent wildlife issues and allergy concerns)
• Personal sporting equipment (we will provide what’s needed for all activities)
• Electronic devices (cell phones, iPads, tablets, e-readers, laptops, smartwatches with cellular service, etc.)
• Cash, debit, or credit cards

The Camp Store is a fun part of the camp experience, giving campers the chance to pick up a few useful items or a special souvenir from their time at Camp Loma Mar. 

What’s Available: Items include Camp Loma Mar gear, plus practical camp essentials like flashlights and water bottles, along with fun items such as stickers, hats, sunglasses, and more. 

Daily Snacks: Each day, campers may purchase snacks such as Gatorade, bottled water, pretzels, chips, or ice cream to enjoy during cabin time. For campers with allergies, staff always check to ensure snacks are safe — and if not, our kitchen team provides an alternative. 

Prices: Most items range from $1–$25. 

When: Campers visit the store once during their session. Families are also welcome to stop by the store at checkout. Campers riding the bus will have the opportunity to visit the store before departing camp.

Campers use money deposited into their Camp Store account — no cash withdrawals are allowed. 

Families can add funds to a camper’s store account during check-in or at any time during the camper’s week at camp. 

Any unused funds at the end of the session will be donated to our Annual Campaign Fund, which helps more children attend camp. 

Parent Note: The Camp Store is optional. For campers who’d like to enjoy daily snacks, $20 is usually sufficient. Larger souvenir purchases can be made directly with parents at checkout.
