Why Camp Loma Mar?

For more than a hundred years, generations of campers have come to Camp Loma Mar to explore the redwoods, make new friends, and discover what they’re capable of. 

As the East Bay’s oldest overnight camp, we’re proud of our history — but it’s the moments that happen here every summer that matter most: a first bullseye in archery, a fearless ride down the zip line, a song around the campfire.

Surrounded by nature and guided by caring staff, campers gain new skills, grow in confidence, and carry home memories that last a lifetime.

Camp Loma Mar is a place where kids grow in confidence, build friendships, and experience the joy of belonging. Rooted in our mission and values, camp provides a supportive environment where every child can explore the outdoors, discover new skills, and create memories that last a lifetime. 

Our four core values guide everything we do: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. These values come to life in the camp experience, where campers feel a true sense of belonging, form meaningful relationships, and celebrate their accomplishments.
