Like all organizations, reopening will look a little different. Read on to learn what you can expect when you return to the Y, and the protocols and procedures we have in place to keep you safe!

Albany YMCA

Indoor pools at Downtown Berkeley and Oakland Y branches are now open for Lap Swimming and Water Walking! Downtown Berkeley and Oakland Y members age 13+ can reserve 30-40 minute swim sessions.

Reserve Your Swim Session:
Reserve your session using the YMCA of the East Bay App or through the schedules page on our website. Sessions can be booked 24 hours in advance.

For safety purposes right now, members may only reserve swim sessions at their home branch.

 

Outdoor Lap Swimming

The outdoor pool at the Pleasant Hill YMCA is open for Lap Swimming and Water Walking and Pleasant Hill members age 13+ can reserve a 30 minute swim session.

The outdoor pool is open Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 6:45 pm and Saturday - Sunday from 8:00 am - 12:15 pm.

Before You Arrive

Member Waiver and Agreement:
Before your first workout session at the Y, please review and sign this electronic member agreement and waiver.

Visiting the Y

Our workout spaces have been reconfigured for maximum physical distancing and increased airflow.
 
For the safety of other members and staff, everyone will wear a mask at all times and our staff will be working diligently to keep spaces clean and sanitized between workout sessions. Per CDC and county guidelines, even those who've been vaccinated must wear a mask.

Staying Safe Together

Social Distancing/Masking
We will be strictly adhering to social distancing protocol. In most cases the equipment is spaced 10 ft apart and we ask members to workout 10 ft from others. Everyone will wear a mask at all times, including those who have been vaccinated.

Cleaning
We have cleaned every single surface within the Y, and every piece of equipment during our closure.  Cleaning materials will be given to members to sanitize their equipment prior to and after use. Staff will also clean all equipment throughout the day.

Additional Safety Measures
All staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. In accordance with CDC guidelines regarding travel, we are asking members to stay home from the Y if they have traveled out of state in the last 14 days. Showers will be closed during this time. Bathrooms and water bottle refill stations will remain open. We encourage you to bring as few non-essential items into the gym as possible.

Whenever you're ready to return to the Y, we're ready to welcome you back safely. If you're not yet comfortable returning to the Y for indoor workouts, we have plenty of options for staying active!
