Group Fitness is Back!

We're excited to offer a variety of group fitness classes, both indoor and outdoor. Check out the schedule below and use the button to reserve your space! These classes are free for Downtown Berkeley members.

Zumba with Noel (Indoor)
Mondays | 9:30 am - 10:25 am

Dance to current and Latin inspired music in this aerobic workout! All levels welcome.

Lower Body Circuit with Rashad (Indoors)
Mondays | 9:00 am - 9:45 am
Gain and develop strength in the quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves and core through this circuit workout utilizing dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, bodyweight and more. Exercises will be time interval based. All levels welcome.

Kickbox Strength with Katy (Indoor)
Mondays | 5:15pm - 6:00pm

Elevate your heart rate with thirty minutes of cardio conditioning kickboxing combos. Class will end with fifteen minutes of a full body strength circuit utilizing dumbbells. Members must bring their own mat. All levels welcome.

Cardio Dance with Andi (Indoors)
Tuesdays | 9:30 - 10:25am

This class utilizes a variety of dance moves choreographed with music to improve stamina and aerobic capacity and is suitable for all fitness levels. Great music and FUN!!

Pilates Mat with Andi (Indoors)
Tuesdays | 10:30 - 11:25am

Pilates is an array of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates to create pelvic stabilization and abdominal control. Expect to increase joint mobility, strengthen your muscles, and increase core stability. All levels welcome.

Senior Strength Coaching with Evelyn (Indoor, drop-in)
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:00 - 11:00 am
Learn or re-learn how to use our circuit strength training machines. Weight training is important for maintaining bone density, our activities of daily living and overall health! It is the fountain of youth for older adults. This class will provide group guided instruction on how to setup equipment based on your needs, support you in choosing safe and effective activities and ensuring correct form. Adaptations for physical limitations, arthritic joints, range of motion limits, etc. will be provided. NO RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.This class will meet in our Circuit Room on the main floor.

Body Conditioning with Noel (Indoors)
Tuesdays | 5:30 pm - 6:25 pm

Body Conditioning is a full-body strength workout utilizing weights, various tools, and body weight. Please bring a mat. All levels welcome.

Vinyasa Yoga with Jason (Indoors)
Tuesdays | 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm

This fun, sweaty, empowering practice emphasizes coordination of breath with movement to flow from one pose to the next. Vigorous and rewarding, this class will safely and effectively help you to challenge the limits of both body and mind.

Upper Body Circuit with Rashad (Indoor)
Wednesdays | 9:00 am - 9:45 am
Gain and develop strength in the chest, back, shoulders, arms and core through this circuit workout utilizing dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, bodyweight and more. Exercises will be time interval based. All levels welcome.

Core & Stretch with Noel (Indoor)
Wednesdays | 9:30am - 10:25am

This class consists of core based exercises that strengthen your abs, glutes, and hamstrings and ends with stretches for an overall effect that makes you feel stronger and more mobile. 

Cardio Dance with Evelyn (Indoors, starting April 6th!)
Wednesdays | 10:00-10:55 am

This class utilizes a variety of dance moves choreographed with music to improve stamina and aerobic capacity and is suitable for all fitness levels. Great music and FUN!!

Senior Strength with Katy (Indoor)
Wednesdays | 11:00 - 11:45 am
Using a chair, band, and hand weights we will build  full body strength and improve range of motion for activities of daily living. Balance and coordination exercises will be incorporated as well. Exercises will be performed standing and in the chair.

Olympic Weightlifting Clinics with Andres (Indoor, drop-in)
Wednesdays | 4:00 - 4:45pm

Learn phases, skills and drills for the snatch and clean and jerk. We will meet in the Rogue rack room!

Pilates Mat with Paul (Indoor)
Thursdays | 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Hatha Yoga with David (Indoor)
Fridays | 9:30 - 10:45am

Traditionally, "Hatha" referred to the combined practice of physical postures (Asanas) and breath control (Pranayama.) Over time, the emergence of specific styles led Hatha to serve as an umbrella term for styles that draw upon the teachings of multiple lineages. Though emphasis may vary, ease is priority.

H.I.I.T. with Katy (Outdoor)
Fridays | 12:15pm - 1:00pm

HIIT optimizes your workout by utilizing a series of cardio and strength intervals to challenge your current level of fitness. The most effective way to build more muscle and improve endurance and strength. Members must bring their own mat. All levels welcome. Class will be held in our Teen Center parking lot at 2111 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Qi Gong with Andres (Indoor)
Saturdays | 10:00 - 11:00 am

Experience this time-tested Chinese exercise form geared towards mental and physical health. With special breathing exercises accompanied with mindful movement, Qigong is a great way to increase energy levels and good health. This class is perfect for those looking to experience the interdependence of mind and body in a workout. With easy and gentle movements, this class is open for members of any fitness level.
