Child Learning Centers - Academic Enrichment
Our Monday-Friday program is an affordable, safe, secure and cheerful environment for your child. It addresses the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language and creative needs of school age children and is licensed through the State of California. We offer enrichment programs including: Daily Homework Help, Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), Math/Literacy Enrichment, Arts Education, College and Career Exploration, Global Learning, Leadership Development, Nutrition Education, Physical Activity, Service Learning and Asset Development, Family Events.Our programs are developed and delivered using guidelines established by the YMCA, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National After School Association (NAA). Campers in Leadership Training
Campers in Leadership Training (CILT's) have the best of both worlds; the fun of going to summer camp, and the opportunity to be in training to be a counselor to the younger campers. CILT's spend part of their time in camp activities especially designed for teens, and part of their time teamed with an experienced counselor, learning firsthand the joys and responsibilities of being a YMCA Camp counselor in training. Service Learning Projects
Our teen projects encourage and foster leadership development, project management techniques and academic enrichment. Student Learning Projects have included producing and creating murals, executing environmental clean-ups, creating tutoring programs and more. Youth & Government
Our civic engagement and leadership development program for middle- and high-school students helps develop critical thinking competence, strengthens interpersonal communication skills, and raises awareness of and engagement in community issues and their possible solutions. Model United Nations ProgramDesigned to introduce middle school students to the operation and structure of the United Nations. Program includes weekend trips to Camp Roberts Military Base and Irvine, CA.
Model Legislature and Court ProgramDesigned for high school delegates, students take on various positions within the California state legislature and court systems. The California Youth & Government Program is the only youth organization in the state privileged to use the actual state legislature and judicial chambers in Sacramento.
