Help Us Help Our Families In Need

Dear Friends of the Y,

Despite ongoing efforts from our courageous health care workers and scientists, our YMCA community is still in the midst of one of the most challenging times we have ever faced. But with generosity, resilience, and a prevailing spirit of community, we are working together to support our most vulnerable families and neighborhoods.

Since the pandemic began, our Y has been able to pivot in so many ways to serve our community: We have provided food distribution for families in need, organized blood drives to help with the initial shortage, and this November, many of our Ys served as early ballot drop-off locations and accessible voting stations.

At this very moment, our Digital Learning Hubs are open for students who don’t have the technology and resources to access their distanced learning. Many students are experiencing homelessness, and lost connections to their school communities when remote learning began 8 months ago. YMCA Digital Learning Hubs give our most under-resourced students an opportunity to stay connected with peers, and keep on-track with their education.

We are also providing Early Childhood Care and pre-school for our most vulnerable families. Many of these families are part of the essential work force, and don’t otherwise have access to safe and quality care for their children.

For older kids, we’ve partnered with school districts across the East Bay to develop an innovative Virtual PE Program. And our Youth & Government programs have adapted their curriculum to provide a dynamic online experience that keeps high school and middle school students civically engaged.

It is vital to the well-being of our communities that we continue to mobilize and offer critical support to those who need it most. A generous donation will make this mission possible.

Please consider making a gift to YMCA of the East Bay. You will be impacting the lives of children and families who need our support.
