Rosie's Girls Summer Camp 2015

Summers of Opportunities

Friends, family and fans from the Richmond community were all smiles at the graduation ceremony for 2015's Rosie’s Girls. At the Final Ceremony on July 25, Richmond Mayor Tom Butt spoke to the importance of this special summer program, which serves girls from lower-income families in West Contra Costa County. Rosie's Girls danced, sang, and shared memories that are sure to last them a lifetime.

The program is designed to build character, resilience, team work, and real-world job skills for girls in “non-traditional” trades. Graduates embodied the spirit of Rosie the Riveter as they explored carpentry, welding, painting, silk-screening and more! Camp culminated in a four day overnight outdoor skills training experience at Yosemite National Park.

This amazing group of girls gained confidence and made friends while exploring trades that many women never get the chance to even consider. Click here to check out the gallery of awesome carpentry and welding projects designed and completed by Rosie's Girls this summer.

After wrapping up another six-week Rosie's Girls Summer Camp program, we're more grateful than ever to our supporters and partners. Because of their help, thirty local middle-school girls were provided full scholarships! Our generous supporters helped make it clear...There's nothing these girls can't do and nothing we can't do together!
