For Parents · YMCA at Camp Arroyo
We can assure you that your child will be in the best possible care at the YMCA of the East Bay’s Outdoor School at Camp Arroyo.
Our fun-loving, knowledgeable staff is experienced working with children, and is trained in CPR and First Aid.
We provide for your child’s every need. They sleep in gender-specific cabins with up to 10 other students and at least one chaperone of the same gender. Showers are available daily and three healthy meals a day will give your child plenty of energy to learn and have fun. If emergency services become necessary, care can be on site within ten minutes.
Our Parent/Guardian Handbook (also in Spanish) is a complete guide to our camp, including curriculum, schedules, information on food and accommodations, and our safety and discipline systems. You must complete and return to the school the 2-page Health History and Authorization Form at the end of the Handbook. Your child may not attend without submitting the form to the school!
Our staff is well trained in how to cope with any issues or concerns that may occur. Understanding this may be your child's first time away from home, we are skilled in recognizing the signs of homesickness and more. Our priority is for your child to learn, grow and thrive.
We work closely with your child’s school to provide all the information necessary to ensure that your child has a great time at camp. If your school is holding a Parent Orientation, we strongly encourage you to attend. However, if you have additional questions, your teacher will follow-up directly with us.
