We are available for weekend rentals January- mid June & September- December. Occasional weekday rentals are dependent upon availability around our school’s Outdoor Environmental Education program that runs late September- mid June.
Camp Arroyo has a 144 bed capacity, which is the highest number of overnight guests we can have at camp. Camp minimums change a bit seasonally. November - March we require 40 people to reserve camp; April- mid June, September- December we require a minimum of 50 people. Smaller groups are welcome to still rent camp if they choose to pay for the minimum guaranteed number.
In order to secure exclusive use of Camp Arroyo, we require 90 participants during peak season (September- October, April- June) and in our non-peak season (November- March) we require 80 people. If multiple smaller groups want to book the same weekend we will work with the group leaders to plan use of shared spaces according to the group’s needs.
Contact Camp Arroyo to inquire about available dates. We will issue a contract with the agreed upon date and put you on the calendar! We require a signed contract and 25% deposit 2-weeks after issuing the contract to hold all dates for groups.
For a weekend rental, groups are welcome to arrive at 4 pm on Friday evening. Planned departure time is 1-hour after your last meal. If more time is needed, you may be able to arrange it ahead of time, please just ask! What are the camp cabins like? Camp Arroyo has 12 cabins that house 12 people each, for a total of 144 beds. All cabins have both heat & air conditioning, so our guests are comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside. All cabins have a bathroom inside that is complete with shower, toilet & sinks for your convenience.
The groups need to bring all of their own sleeping bags or bedding, pillows, towel, and toiletries.
Camp Arroyo has a basketball court, bocce ball court, & large meadow that you can use for your recreation activities at no cost. You can also take advantage of nearby hiking trails. For an additional fee, our Pool is available May 1- Oct 15. We also have a climbing wall and ropes course on site that is available for an additional fee.
Unfortunately for safety and health code related reasons, groups may not make their own food. Our kitchen staff will work with you to provide top notch meals during your retreat to help keep everyone satisfied!
Our food is delicious… and we aren’t just saying that! Our guests have raved about the quality of food that we serve for many years. Our kitchen staff prides itself on making quality healthy food from scratch. Prior to your retreat, your group will have the option of choosing what food you would like based on our sample menu.
Absolutely! Please let us know at least 2 weeks ahead of time about any food allergies or dietary restrictions that the members of you group have. We often work with folks with allergies and our kitchen staff is trained in cross-contamination and are vigilant at checking labels for potential allergens.
Typically we serve our meals family style. The kitchen prepares the food into large serving bowls with the appropriate portions for 10 people per table. The group should assign 1-2 people per table to retrieve the serving trays at the start of meal time. And when the tables are ready, seconds are also available! At the end of the meal, the group will need to clear the tables to the dish window & wipe off the dining tables.
There is wireless internet available in the Dining Hall. You are welcome to bring a laptop to connect if needed.
It should! Most cell phone networks work pretty well around main camp. If you venture out on the trails it is a little less likely.
We do not allow alcohol or smoking at camp. Drugs & weapons are also strictly forbidden.
In the Dining Hall there is a microphone, CD/DVD player, LCD projector/ screen/ PC computer hook-ups, & AV cable to play music from your phone or i-pod.
Camp Arroyo loves all animals and service animals are welcome on leash, but unfortunately, no pets are allowed.
Indeed there is, thanks for asking! We ask that all of our groups respect our neighbors by keeping things quiet between 10 pm-7 am.
