Description

Title:  BSC Administrative and Billing Assistant                

Status: 20-30 hours per week

Non-Exempt

Pay Rate:  Starting at $10/hr, will DOE

 

Summary:  Under the general direction of the Business Service Center Manager, this position is responsible for providing high quality customer service to both members and staff.  

Essential Duties:

1.       Data Entry.  Investigate and analyze member’s accounts for accuracy and register members for childcare, day camp, youth sports, memberships, and other misc. registrations in a timely manner. 

2.       Customer Service.  Research and respond to billing and program inquiries from branch staff and parents.  Follow up on past due accounts.  Ability to communicate and deal with difficult situations by always being courteous and professional. 

3.       General Office Duties.  Answer the main BSC phone line, file, photocopy, and other misc. office duties as assigned.     

4.       Perform other Duties as required.  Demonstrate ownership and shared responsibility of all team functions by providing assistance whenever needed to ensure smooth operations and provide the best possible internal/external customer service.

5.       Accounting.  Accurately process payments to member’s account.  Review billing statements for accuracy.  Process and mail out weekly and monthly bills.  Set up member’s account with EFT.  Prepare daily deposits ensuring the total collected equals the total applied.

Qualifications:

  1. PC literate.  Knowledge of database or AS400 preferred.
  2. Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers.
  3. Billing and collections experience with strong analytical skills.
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of basic accounting.
  6. Experience with 10 key.
  7. Detailed oriented.
  8. Ability to multi-task.
  9. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to work independently and understand the significance of teamwork.
  11. Ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures.
  12. Provide excellent customer service.
  13. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
