About Camp Arroyo
Camp Arroyo, situated on 138 acres in the rolling hills of Southern Livermore Valley, is the Bay Area’s Premier Environmental Education and Conference & Retreat Center. Operated by YMCA of the East Bay and built in 2001 through a partnership with the East Bay Regional Park District and The Taylor Family Foundation, the camp receives over 6,000 visitors annually.

Camp Arroyo is unlike any camp or retreat center you have ever been to. Although only a few miles from down town Livermore, camp is a world apart from the daily hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. Camp was built to ensure maximum comfort for visitors. Our "green-build" design uses sustainable materials to ensure a practical co-existence with nature, and our facility features the largest straw bale building in the United States. Each building features sustainable designs including Solar water heaters, radiant floor heating, reused building materials, and passive building placement to maximize heating and cooling efficiently.
Throughout the year, adults and children come to Camp Arroyo for a variety of reasons, Quality Oudoor Environmental Education, Business Retreats, Youth Group teambuilding, Church outings, Celebrations. Whatever you are looking for, it is likely we can provide it for you.

This year’s event will feature many of the same popular activities from last year such as Yoga, Dance Classes, Pilates, High Intensity work outs, Water Aerobics, Hiking, Creative Writing, Nutrition information and the Climbing Wall. In addition, based on feedback from last year, we’re adding more choices including differing Yoga levels, more Dance, the Zip line, an Organic Gardening course and more. Mini spa services will also be available with complimentary chair massages, manicures, and more.
Comment’s from participants last year included:

- “Awesome experience, I’m telling all my friends!”
- “The people were absolutely wonderful, and the eco facility is impressive.”
- “Food was fantastic – much better than expected.”

- Such an exceptional weekend. Thanks to everyone who participated in the development of this event. I enjoyed every moment – and truly feel renewed in spirit!”
This year will also feature a new and improved system to register for hour massage appointments. Participants will be able to indicate with their registration whether or not they’d want a massage appointment. Those who do will receive a copy of the event schedule in advance and their appointment will be scheduled in advance. These appointments will be booked in order that registrations are received, but we will have many more massage slots available this year and hope to be able to accommodate everyone who requests one.
The event starts Friday evening, with an optional dinner, and ends with Sunday brunch. The course fee includes all meals, lodging and standard actvities. (additional charge for massage) Housing is in our regular cabins that feature 6 bunk beds (12 beds), and an attached bathroom with 2 sinks, a private shower and private toilet. We’ll be capping each cabin at 10 people. We will again have excellent food on the menu, and will make sure the menu includes a little chocolate (another request from last year). Your family or friends are welcome to join you for Sunday brunch for just an additional $10/person.
Download the event flier and registration form here. Remember, registration begins March 3 and will sell out quickly! Due to the popularity of this event and for planning reasons, registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
