Summer Sessions 

Our most popular summer swim lessons are our two week sessions that run Monday-Thursday; we also have a Saturday only option available.

Note: Class fees are for the entire session. Entire fee is due at time of registration. Fee are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless the class is cancelled by the YMCA. Additionally, there are no make-ups or credits for missed classes unless the class was canceled by the YMCA. In the event of pool closure, the YMCA reserves one (1) day of safety instruction.



Swim Lesson Levels


Shrimp/Perch (Parent/Child: 6 months - 3 yrs.)


Prerequisite is ability to put face under water and 3 consecutive bobs. This class emphasizes safety, kicking techniques, floating, introduction to paddle stroke, and games.

Pike (beginner: ages 3–5)


There is no prerequisite for this class. Emphasis is on water adjustment, water safety, and basic beginning swimming skills and games.

Eel (beginner: ages 3–5)

Ray (intermediate beginner: ages 3–5)


Prerequisite is front and back floating without assistance. This class emphasizes paddle stroke, backstroke, and safety skills. It also includes an introduction to rotary breathing.

Starfish (advanced beginner: ages 3–5)


Prerequisite is paddle stroke. Emphasis is on increasing endurance, boating safety, PFD's (Personal Floatation Devices), and swimming distance using skills learned.

Polliwog (ages 6–13)


There is no prerequisite for this class. Emphasis is on water adjustment, water safety, basic swimming skills and games.

Prerequisite is the ability to one lap using crawl stroke with side breathing and one lap of backstroke. Emphasis is on improving technique, building endurance and learning breaststroke; Rescue skills are introduced.

Flying Fish (ages 6–13)


Prerequisite is lap swimming using crawl stroke, backstroke, breaststroke kick and dolphin kick. Emphasis is on butterfly, breaststroke endurance swimming, starts, turns, and review of rescue skills.

Prerequisite is a 400 yard Individual Medley (4 laps of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and crawl stroke).
